To make a sizable, four-story house sit elegantly on a steep, narrow lot, FSA stepped back each story to create intimate, outdoor living terraces and then divided the house into three classical levels: the stone base, the articulated central body and the penthouse tower. Then, going against convention, FSA moved the garage from the front of the house to the back, to create a connection with neighborhood life.
