The goal of this project was to take a single-family home on a steep, downhill lot and expand it on to a neighboring lot. FSA created a private living unit and garden at the street level for the client’s aging parents, giving everyone their own privacy but also some connection to street life of the neighborhood. FSA then opened the lower levels of the home to sprawling views of Downtown LA with broad terraces.
